Todd German

Chairman of the Board

Mr. German is an Investment Advisor and partner in Keys Wealth Management, a private investment management firm. He has served as senior officer for a number of local financial institutions. Most recently, in addition to serving as board member and Treasurer of the Borrower’s Board, Mr. German is the President of the Key West Collegiate School, Chairman of Hometown PAC, and member of the Key West Citizen Editorial Board. His past volunteer time was spent as the President of the Key West Business Guild, Vice Chair of the Community Foundation, President of the Montessori Charter Elementary School, Chair of the Key West Citizen’s Review Board, and former President of the Key West Botanical Garden Society. Mr. German is a graduate of Leadership--Monroe County, the Key West Ambassador Program and the Key West Citizen’s Police Academy. Mr. German brings financial, real estate and charter school governance experience.​

Ana Mendez

Ms. Mendez has been in the field of education for over 16 years. She earned her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida and began her career as a teacher in the Miami-Dade County Public School System. Ms. Mendez continued her studies at Nova Southeastern University where she completed her certification in Educational Leadership. In the fall of 2005, Ms. Mendez began working with charter schools and she serves as the Principal of Pinecrest Preparatory Academy Charter School in Miami, Florida. In addition to supervising the daily school operations, her areas of expertise include curriculum planning, program evaluation, data analysis, assessment design, and professional development. Since her election to the Board in 2013, Ms. Diaz has effectively provided oversight and support in her areas of expertise for several of the Borrower’s schools throughout the country.​

Matthew Cox

Mr. Cox is a Practice Builder at Kimley-Horn whose focus is land development. He began his career with Kimley-Horn in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to San Antonio in March 2014. With more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Cox provides a full range of relevant civil engineering experience around his practice in the City of San Antonio. His technical experience includes stormwater management system design, utility design, site planning, grading and drainage, permitting, and plan production. Mr. Cox’s daughter currently attends Brooks Collegiate Academy.​

Michael Fogerty

Mr. Fogerty graduated from Towson University with a BS in History and English. He served 20+ years in the United States Air Force as a Navigator, flying mostly E-3 AWACS and T-43 Gators. After retirement in Texas, Mr. Fogerty began his teaching career of 16 years. He started his career in public schools, teaching History and English in grades 6 through 10. He then transitioned to teaching in Charter Schools, from grades 5 through 12. He finished his career as a Special Education Teacher at both BASE and BCA. After retiring from teaching, Mr. Fogerty worked for Hill Country MHDD, the local mental health authority in Comal County, helping Veterans and their families. He is now retired! He has always enjoyed traveling, visiting 35 different countries and 48 of the 50 states. He also enjoys collecting autographs and memorabilia from sports, music, space and aviation, politics, and film.

Jacqueline Hernandez

Mrs. Hernandez earned her BA from St. Mary’s University and began working with local and state government. After witnessing the challenges faced by at-risk families, Mrs. Hernandez began her work in education as a bilingual parent educator. Burdened by families facing generational dysfunction, she pivoted once again, earning her MA degree in Counseling & Guidance from Texas A&M University - San Antonio and began her career as a secondary school counselor. In 2017, Mrs. Hernandez switched gears to become a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and formed her own private practice in 2019 where she offers an array of counseling services. She currently holds an LPC-Supervisor designation, positioning her to train LPC-Associates (master’s level clinicians seeking full licensure). Her heart for making generational impact continues to guide her work with individuals and families throughout Texas. 

David Concepcion

Mr. Concepcion has been working with charter schools for nearly two decades, originally serving as Board Member and Chairman of Mater Academy Charter Schools in the Miami, Florida area from 2003-2006, and later joining the Somerset Academy Board as an Executive Board Member since 2006. Mr. Conception has worked as the Chief Legislative Aide with the Florida House of Representatives and the Mayor's Chief of Staff and City Clerk in the City of Hialeah, Florida. Mr. Concepcion has experience in the areas of bill-drafting, presentation of legislation, implementation of legislation among governmental agencies, fundraising, governmental relations, and municipal management. Mr. Concepcion works directly with the local constituency and serves as a liaison to the community with the media, state, federal and local agencies. Mr. Concepcion attended the University of Florida, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations and Latin American Studies.​
